Dani Travis

Dani Travis joined the CBS 12 team in October 2022 as a Morning News Reporter. Fun fact, she celebrated not only her start with CBS 12 This morning, but also her birthday all in the same week!

Before that, Dani came from the Panhandle as an evening news reporter and fill-in anchor for the NBC affiliate WJHG NewsChannel 7 in Panama City Beach. There, she won two Florida Association of Broadcast Journalist (FABJ) awards for her story-telling.

But she’s no stranger to South Florida.

Dani graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Miami in May 2020. During her time at UM, she interned at WHDH 7News in Boston, MA in summer 2018, and FOX affiliate WSVN 7News in Miami in fall 2018. Her internship with WSVN then led to her getting a job as a news writer for the “Today in Florida” 5 -10 A.M. morning newscasts through graduation.

Dani was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, but has called parts of the Panhandle and South Florida home over the past seven years. She’s excited to continue to get to work as an award-winning journalist in the Sunshine State!

When she is not out in the field gathering news, Dani enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling, long runs, and trying new restaurants.
