Amber Raub

Amber joined the CBS12 team in September 2022.

Amber previously worked as the evening anchor for FOX Illinois in Champaign, Ill., as the evening anchor for KHQA in Quincy, Ill., and as an anchor, reporter, and producer for KOMU 8 News in Columbia, MO.

During her time at FOX, KHQA, and KOMU Amber covered everything from political corruption, human interest pieces, big elections, extreme weather, and mental health.

Amber grew up in a military family. Her mom was in the Navy and her dad was in the Air Force (that’s actually how they met)! She was born on the Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas, and not long after her family moved to the small town of Centerview, Missouri where she grew up.

In 2020, Amber graduated from the University of Missouri with a dual degree in Political Science and Journalism.

In her spare time, she loves to play with her Shepsky named Binnington and her Husky named Harpo (you can follow them on Instagram: @itsharpoandbinny)! She also loves to read, cook, and is a big movie person (especially spy movies)! Her guilty pleasure reality TV shows are The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

Amber is a big foodie. Her favorite food is sushi, but she’s also a sucker for any kind of pasta.
