Alexis Cruz

Alexis Cruz is a breaking news evening reporter and fill in anchor for CBS12 News. She also anchors the 6 and 11 p.m. broadcasts for our Gainesville affiliate.

Alexis is ecstatic and extremely grateful to return to South Florida and serve this community.

Alexis comes to CBS12 from WCTI in New Bern, N.C., where she anchored three-and-a-half hours of morning news, Monday through Friday.

Alexis is thrilled to turn off the 3 a.m. alarm and be back in South Florida, close to her family in Miami. It was in Gainesville where Alexis found her passion for telling human interest stories and connecting with the community both on and off camera. She is also a proud University of Florida alumna.

When she’s not working, you can find her running around with her dog Zoe, soaking up the sun, spending time with family or cheering on the Gators!
