FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBS12) — After almost a year since a young woman was shot in a drive-by shooting, detectives have released video from that fateful day.
The Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) said 20-year-old Dru’Niyyia Griffin was shot and critically injured in a drive-by shooting on May 8, 2023.
The sheriff's office said when deputiesarrived on scene, they found Griffin suffering from several gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a black Honda Accord. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported her to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. A second victim, a man, arrived at the hospital a short time later and was treated and released.

Detectives said Griffin and the man were sitting inside her parked car outside the house of someone they were visiting onNorthwest 15th Court in unincorporated Central Broward.
Video released shows the moment whenanother vehicle drove by and fired multiple shots, striking the victim’s car. Detectives believe the shooter’s vehicle may have been a dark SUV.
The sheriff's office said Griffin remains seriously ill and will need long-term care.
