A new company called Telly is giving away free 55" televisions.
So what's the catch?
Telly is an ad-supported Dual Screen Smart TV that is paid for by the sponsors that are shown on a separate screen below the TV screen.
With a built-in camera and microphone, you’ll be able to do video calls and get voice-activated assistance.
Its Game Room also comes loaded with dozens of immersive games, and fitness programs are available that include advanced motion-tracking.
A Telly TV also comes with a built-in 5-driver "immersive" sound bar between the 55" TV screen and the bottom information screen.
Telly’s operating system doesn’t support apps, so you’ll need a streaming service but it does include a free 4K streaming stick.
Ilya Pozin, the co-founder of Pluto TV, a free, ad-supported streaming service now owned by Paramount, is the creator of Telly.
Telly says the TVs are 55” 4K HDR Theater Display.
Watch all of your favorites with the included 4K streaming stick or connect your favorite streaming device for an easy plug and play transition.
Pozin officially unveiled Telly on Monday and says the company plans to ultimately give away millions of premium TV sets, for free.
The company launched its online reservation system for an initial batch of 500,000 sets.
Pozin says the 55" display operates as a standard TV, while the second screen below displays the weather, sports scores, and stock prices, as a sponsored news ticker scrolls across the bottom and sponsor logos show up in a box to the right.
Telly’s integrated Smart Screen will bring new experiences to your living room like video calling, instant news and sports updates, video games, a fitness studio and so much more.
You can reserve a Telly TV from the company’s website by leaving your name, email, and phone number.
Shipping begins sometime in Summer 2023.
